One of the most talked-about curiosities about the films "Despicable Me" and "Minions" is the fact that all the Minions are male. According to their creator, animator and director Pierre Coffin, this is no coincidence at all.
Coffin, who voiced the yellow characters, explained that he didn't create female Minions because he imagined these characters as too clumsy, strange, and often too "stupid." For this reason, he humorously said that "I couldn't imagine women being that stupid."
His statement comes back into focus every time a new film in the "Minions" series is released.
Although it was said with a touch of humor, Pierre Coffin's comment has been interpreted by many fans as a compliment to women, while others have simply seen it as a creative choice that gave identity to celebrities with the color yellow.
