25 saplings from Mother Teresa's fir seeds are planted in Tirana

In the month of October, when we commemorate the 19th anniversary of the Beatification of Mother Teresa, the Albanian humanist who won the Nobel Peace Prize, Tirana joins Skopje and Pristina in a symbolic act, such as the planting of 25 saplings, from fir seeds planted by the Saint herself. in 1980 in Skopje Square.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, accompanied in the planting of seedlings by the representative of the Institute of Cultural and Spiritual Heritage of Albanians in Skopje, Skënder Hasani, mentioned another important monument in honor of the figure of Mother Teresa, such as the construction of of her saint in the hills of the Artificial Lake.
"There was no more beautiful place than a park located above the "Mother Teresa" square, which bears her name, on the days of her Beatification, to commemorate that holy event. The Municipal Council of Tirana has just decided that, on the hills of Lake Tirana, on the other side, we will erect a shrine of Mother Teresa, as a place of reflection and prayer, a place of tranquility and peace. I thank you with all my heart for taking this initiative and I look forward to other initiatives like this," said the mayor.
Also, Veliaj said that unproductive debates should not interfere with such initiatives, which are in anyone's interest.
"We Albanians, sometimes, stand out for a lot of arguments without looking, 'wet, not wet', 'whose are you, whose is I', 'your party, my party'. We need more such initiatives that unite us, not those that divide us. This is an initiative that unites. We among the Albanians always need more and more threads that unite us and this is our century. Mother Teresa once said that we should use every moment. If you can't give everything to save the world, you can save one person, but at least you can give a smile. Who thought there would be a war in 2022! Who would have thought that a barbaric war, of a psychopathic executioner, would cause a big price crisis everywhere, and there would be inflation everywhere?", he said.
The representative of the Institute of Cultural and Spiritual Heritage of Albanians in Skopje, Skënder Hasani, said that Mother Teresa belongs to all Albanians and that the fir seeds that she planted in the center of Skopje, many years ago, are now sprouting in Tirana and in Pristina.
The joint initiative between Tirana, Skopje and Pristina will be crowned with the renewal of three parks with firs, as a continuation of the damaged fir of Mother Teresa.
