KS Tirana athletes have the opportunity to train in a contemporary hall with standards. The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, along with the big names of sports that received medals last year, such as: Briken Çalja, Izmir Smalaj and Alban Beqiri, as well as icons and figures of Sport Klub Tirana over the years, inaugurated today the new facilities of the Palace of Sports of hand games "Farie Hoti".
Veliaj said that for Tirana, this is a dream come true:
"Is this transformation real?" Is this investment so high quality for the most prestigious club of the Republic of Albania, worthy as the row of cups and medals? We can finally say Yes. I believe that the spirit of this club, of these teams, is the encouragement, to be supportive and motivating. Say to each other: "Thank you"! "I am proud of you!", Said Veliaj.
The mayor expressed his gratitude to the elite athletes of Tirana.
"We really are probably a modest country, maybe we are not the biggest city in the world, but the fact that today we have 3 champions: Izmir, Balkan champion in long jump, Alban, Balkan champion in boxing and Briken, world champion in "Weightlifting means that with work we can achieve everything and in fact this is just the beginning," he said.
The Mayor gave another news regarding the sport of swimming: “In January, the club of Tirana will take the pools at the Lake, which after 20 years that have been under private administration will be returned to the swimming club of Tirana "and the Albanian Swimming Federation will finally have its own Olympic pools, that just as we had some glorious times for Albanian swimming when it won medals, we will have the opportunity to return to that time," said Veliaj.
He also added that, for the first time, Tirana will have Padel's sport.
"We will not only recover the lost spaces, such as the space of swimming pools, but Tirana will be the first to introduce the sport of Padel in the multitude of federations that has inside its white and blue house", said Veliaj.
Në këtë sallë, që mban dhe emrin e një prej ikonave të volejbollit të Tiranës, janë mbajtur kampionate dhe aktivitete sportive të ndryshme si në boks, judo, taekwondo, mundje etj., të cilat tashmë do të zhvillohen në kushte bashkëkohore dhe moderne.
“Unë e di që do kemi beteja të jashtëzakonshme, por ajo që do të doja është që ne jo vetëm të njihemi për kupa dhe medalje, por edhe për zemrën e mirë dhe të madhe të Tiranës. Ndaj dhe do të doja që të falënderoja të gjithë ata që i janë bashkuar në këto vitet e fundit Tiranës nga çdo cep i Shqipërisë, sepse unë besoj se nuk është pa arsye fakti që shumica e ekipit olimpik të Republikës së Shqipërisë, vjen nga Sport Klub Tirana, që është zemra e vendit,” tha kreu i Bashkisë.
Për të gjithë ata që veshin uniformën bardhë e blu të Sport Klub Tiranës, Veliaj shprehu një mirënjohje të jashtëzakonshme.
