Veliaj reveals his early friendship with the first Albanian judge in NYC, Edith Shkreli
The first Albanian judge in NYC, Edit Shkreli, has been in the headlines for the eagle that was made during her swearing in America. During the swearing-in at the American Court, she had also placed the flag of Albania and Kosovo next to her right hand.
In a status posted a few minutes ago, Erion Veliaj reveals his early friendship with Edith Shkreli. It tells a bit of her story as an immigrant from the age of 13, the loss of her father and how she managed to be at the top of her career today.
"Happy to see my little sister, Edith Shkreli, elected as the first Albanian-American judge in New York, but also as the youngest. 🇦🇱🇺🇸
Her story as a 13-year-old immigrant who started everything from scratch after losing her father - fighting, studying and trying hard - is the story of a Cinderella of our time. 👑
This is not only the best century of Albanians 🇦🇱 to date, but above all it is the century of wonderful Albanian women 🇦🇱 like Editi, Mira Murati and Ermonela Jaho - and many other women who are inspired by them! STRENGTH!", writes Veliaj.
